Key Takeaways:
● Direct rail routes will help farmers compete and keep more value at the farm. Faster, lower-cost shipping gives agricultural producers a stronger path to market and improves the economics of moving their goods.
● A more efficient rail network will strengthen American agriculture. Reducing transportation costs and improving service will help U.S. producers compete more effectively with imports.
● The Union Pacific-Norfolk Southern combination will support U.S. competitiveness. Better connections between farms and markets will help American products reach customers more efficiently and strengthen the country’s position in the global economy.

I mean, it's tough enough making money on the farm.
Anything that increases the cash flow and comfort level in the area is good for everybody. You should be able to ship stuff cheaper and faster, and we should be able to get more money back to the farms.
I support this merger.
If we can get direct routes out there, we can compete with stuff that's being imported from around the world.
It's a great opportunity for our country to move forward and be more competitive with the rest of the world.
