Vena Shares Vision for Transformative Transcontinental Network

Union Pacific Railroad CEO Jim Vena joined Trains magazine editor Bill Stephens on the TrainsPro Podcast to discuss the benefits of creating America’s first seamless transcontinental railroad.

During the conversation, Vena discussed how the combination with Norfolk Southern will strengthen the nation's supply chain, improve service for customers and enhance rail's ability to compete with trucking. The combined network is expected to remove an estimated 2.1 million truckloads annually from taxpayer-funded highways and help speed up the supply chain.

“We’ll take it slow and easy, and do it right,” Vena said of merger integration. “Service wins.”
